Waste Transfer & Recycling Centres

Ahern operate two waste transfer and recycling facilities in Thurrock and Basildon. Both sites are equipped with weighbridges and between them accept the range of non hazardous & hazardous wastes and recyclables listed below.

The recyclables and wastes we collect from our clients is sorted and bulked for onward transport to a network of reprocessors, recovery and disposal facilities

Our on site processing includes recovery via our Material Recovery Facility, cardboard, paper and plastic baling, a wood shredding operation, hardcore / concrete crushing and soils screening.

In addition we accept a range of hazardous wastes, including asbestos wastes, refridgerators/freezers, fluorescent tubes, gas cylinders and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

The Thurrock facility is situated close to Junction 30, M25 within easy access of both the motorway network and A13. The Basildon facility is situated close to the A132/A127 junction of A127 within easy access of both the A130 and A13.
